Garfield Weston Foundation

The Foundation supports a range of environment projects ranging from organisations that raise public awareness of, and find solutions to, specific issues such as sustainable fishing, in addition to charities that undertake active conservation work. Project, capital and revenue costs can be covered. The grant funding must be matched. Grants of £100,000+ are available.


The Steel Charitable Trust

Very few restrictions are imposed on the purpose for which a grant may be used and the environment is one of the five core categories. Grants are assessed within 6 months of application and there is a 12% success rate. Grants vary between £2,000 and £25,000. Applicants must be charities or Community Interest Companies (CICs)


Midcounties Co-operative Community Funding

A fund for organisations or community groups that have been members of the Midcounties Co-operative for 3 years or more. Grants are available up to £2,000. The scope of what can be funded is very broad. The aims of the grant programme are: to support communities, defend the environment, and develop young people and cooperatives.


Peabody Community Fund

Projects must improve the lives of Peabody residents, and align to one of the three themes: health, happiness, or wealth. Grants are up to £30k, and can be led by charities or resident groups.


National Lottery Community Fund

A range of grants are available for voluntary, community and public sector organisations to take action on the issues that matter to people and communities. Grants vary for £300 – £500,000. Tesco Bags of Help

This local community grant scheme uses money raised from the sale of carrier bags to fund local projects in communities across the UK. Eligible projects could include making flood resilience and/or resistance improvements to a building that benefits the local community, or creating outdoor woodland and wildlife areas in your local community.


Landfill Communities Fund

John Ellerman Foundation

The Foundation supports charities undertake projects in one of the priority areas of arts, environment and welfare.
