The Steel Charitable Trust

Very few restrictions are imposed on the purpose for which a grant may be used and the environment is one of the five core categories. Grants are assessed within 6 months of application and there is a 12% success rate. Grants vary between £2,000 and £25,000. Applicants must be charities or Community Interest Companies (CICs)


The Naturesave Trust

The grant has a strong focus upon sustainability, renewable energy and nature conservation. Funds cannot be used for staff or research. Any charity/business in the UK is eligible.


Countryside Stewardship

Funding for farmers, woodland owners, foresters and land managers to make environmental improvements. Countryside Stewardship provides financial incentives for land managers to look after their environment through activities such as conserving and restoring wildlife habitats, flood risk management and woodland creation and management.


LEADER

LEADER offers funding of between £5,000 – £180,000 for small and medium-sized rural businesses, with a funding priority in the North and West Northamptonshire region being projects that enhance water and soil management to improve farm productivity.


Heritage Lottery Fund – Landscapes, Parks and Nature

The fund offers a range of grant funding programmes to support all kinds of heritage projects that make a lasting impact for heritage, people and communities, for example projects that seek to conserve and enhance threatened habitats such as wetlands. Grants vary from £3000 – 5,000,000+.


Landfill Communities Fund

The Landfill Communities Fund allows UK Landfill Operators to support a wide range of environmental projects by giving them a 90% tax credit against their donations to Environmental Bodies.  The donations are used fund community and environmental projects, such as those with a habitat creation or biodiversity focus. John Ellerman Foundation

The Foundation supports charities undertake projects in one of the priority areas of arts, environment and welfare. For projects with an environmental focus, the Foundation will fund activity that positively contributes to greater harmony between people and the planet. Habitat restoration and biodiversity enhancement are key project support themes.


Esmée Fairbairn Foundation – Environment Grants

Funding is available for projects that aim to improve the quality of life for people by supporting work that focuses on conservation, sustainability and enhancing green infrastructure. The Foundation funds organisations that see people and communities as an asset to support environmental sustainability and take positive and practical action to address environmental challenges.
